When stepping into a sacred space, such as a festival or community garden, you are able to step outside of your individuation and participate as one part of a greater whole; the community. The very nature of shared experience requires a certain level of communion. (Permaculture Research Institute, 2013)
Karen Gordon and her team host several events, designed to rally the community around a shared experience in the Augusta area. From the ParTee On The Green during Masters Week to sa*lon: music | art | ideas | conversation (a series of intimate gatherings to foster deliberative dialogue) to the #popupaugusta movement, and a growing initiative aimed at instilling pride in South Augusta.
Gordon is a board member of the Downtown Advisory Panel (District 9 appointee) and the Greater Augusta Arts Council.
